Fine-tune your resume and learn interview techniques during three upcoming workshops sponsored by Career Services. Job-seeking students are invited to get pointers as they prepare for the 2nd Annual Indiana Careers Consortium (INCC) Careers and Internship Fair on March 24 at the Student Activities Center, IU South Bend.
“Writing Resumes For Career Fairs and Beyond” will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, March 13. The Career Services office will help you decode job posting, and show you how to use different resume formats and key words to get attention.
Students are encouraged to bring resumes for comments and feedback.
“Selling Yourself in Sixty Seconds” will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 14. Learn essential techniques on marketing your valuable skills to employers. Make a positive impression in 60 seconds from the initial handshake right through to your message.
“Career Fair Etiquette” will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 15. Going to a career fair is more than showing up. Learn to create a strategy of selling and networking. Skits will be presented on effective and not-so-effective job fair behavior.
All the workshops are in Room 225 of the Student Activities Center. For further information call 520-4425 or visit http://www.iusb.edu/~sbcareer/.
