Nominations Being Accepted for
Distinguished Alumni Award
March 1 is the deadline for nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Indiana University South Bend Alumni Association. The award is presented during the commencement ceremony in May.
The award recognizes outstanding IU South Bend alumni who have made significant contributions to the community or their profession, and are examples of IU South Bend success stories.
Personal and professional accomplishments, community service and involvement in campus activities following graduation are important criteria in selecting a recipient.
Faculty, staff and alumni may nominate any alumnus or alumna. Previous recipients of outstanding alumni awards from IU South Bend schools and divisions also are eligible.
Current board members of the IU South Bend Alumni Association are not eligible.
Last year, the award was given to two alumni: Andre Anderson, president of Positive Redirections, Nashville, Tenn., and Larry Lentych, chief financial officer of 1st Source Corp.
Past recipients include Kurran Strunk, past Indiana State Teacher of the Year; Phyllis Wezeman, author; and Charles Niemier, senior vice president of international operations of Biomet, Inc., Warsaw.
