College Prep Workshop Offered for High School Girls
A College Prep Workshop is scheduled for March 24 at Indiana University South Bend. It will be open to all 11th- and 12th-grade high school girls and will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. in Room 1001, Wiekamp Hall.
The workshop is sponsored by the South Bend Branch of the American Association of University Women and the Women’s Studies program at IU South Bend.
Deadline to register is March 1. The registration fee is $5. Checks should be made payable to "South Bend AAUW."
The goal of the workshop is to assist high school girls in making a successful transition to college by offering workshops providing information on learning strategies, social activities, healthy lifestyles and the overall college system.
Seating is limited to 125 girls, with 12th grade students given priority.
Participants will be able to direct their questions and concerns to college women during the workshops. Representatives from a variety of campuses will be present.
Scholarships are available to cover the $5 registration fee. For questions about the workshop, registration forms or event scholarship money, call Louise Collins at (574) 520-4245.
