Three Workshops Offered to Job Seekers
Looking for a job? Three upcoming workshops may be the help you need to get the job of your dreams. Indiana University South Bend Career Services Office is sponsoring workshops on resumes, how to present yourself and career fair etiquette.
All three are free and open to the public. Reservations are required by March 2. Register at http://www.IUSBCareers.com or call (574) 520-4425.
"Resume Writing for Career Fairs and Beyond" will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 6, Room 225, Student Activities Center. The workshop will examine job postings, targeted resumes, key words, and what not to do in a resume. Bring in a resume for feedback.
"Selling Yourself in Sixty Seconds" will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, in Room 225, Student Activities Center. There will be presentations on handshakes, communications and ways to avoid bad impressions.
"Career Fair Etiquette" is scheduled from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8, in Room 225, Student Activities Center. The workshop leaders will talk about strategy, dress, selling yourself, networking, verbal and nonverbal clues and follow-up procedure.
