Jacqueline L. Caul recently was appointed the vice chancellor for student affairs and enrollment management at Indiana University South Bend. Since 2003, Caul had been serving as the senior associate vice chancellor for student affairs at IU South Bend.
The announcement was made by IU South Bend Chancellor Una Mae Reck.
In the new position, she will be the principal enrollment management and student affairs official. She will be a member of the enrollment management advisory committee and will supervise undergraduate admission, registrar, financial aid, student scholarships, student academic support service, campus diversity, student judicial affairs, career services, disabled student services, athletics, recreation and student life, international student services, residential living and will serve as university liaison to the Student Affairs Committee of the Academic Senate.
Caul received her bachelor’s from the University of Michigan, and her master’s in elementary and secondary education and Ph.D in administration and higher education, both from Michigan State University. She received a post-doctoral fellowship for women and minorities in research on teaching from Michigan State in 1979-80.
Prior to the senior associate position in student affairs, Caul served as senior associate vice chancellor for academic affairs from 2000-03; associate vice chancellor for academic affairs from 1998-2000; interim assistant vice chancellor for academic affairs from 1996-98; and director of off-campus programs from 1998-99, all at IU South Bend.
She also served as assistant dean of financial aid and career placement at Southwestern Michigan College; assistant professor in the College of Education at Michigan State; senior researcher for the Institute for Research on Teaching; and director and assistant director of the Michigan State University Flint Teaching Education Center.
