Paula A. Smith has been named the director of student housing at IU South Bend. She began her duties on Jan. 2.
This is a new position that was created to manage the student housing that is being constructed on the land south of the St. Joseph River.
Smith has 16 years of experience in student housing, admissions and residence life from various institutions including Bowling Green State University, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Purdue University North Central and the University of Notre Dame.
Before her move to IU South Bend she was a corporate trainer for Press Ganey Associates Inc. Prior to that, she was the assistant director of residence life and housing at Notre Dame from 2000 to 2007.
Smith earned a master’s degree in education, college student personnel, from Bowling Green University in Ohio. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Eastern Illinois University.
