Indiana University South Bend’s Career Services Office is offering three free workshops on resumes, interviews and presentation for jobseekers on three consecutive days beginning March 9.
The events are open to the public and will be held in room 221 and 223 of the Student Activities Center on campus.
On Tuesday, March 9, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. get tips on resume writing for job fairs and beyond. Learn about decoding a job posting, resume formats, keywords, and linking skills and experience to career objectives.
Learn about first impressions from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 10. “Selling Yourself in 60 Seconds: Marketing Your Valuable Skills” will give jobseekers pointers on selling yourself in the first minute, what to say after a handshake and other communication skills.
“Job Fair Etiquette: It’s More Than Just Showing Up” will be presented from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11. This workshop tells you how to dress, the value of networking, strategies and follow-ups.
