Ken Bain, founding director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at New York University will be the keynote speaker for the 7th Annual Midwest Conference on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). He will speak from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, April 7, in Wiekamp Hall, IU South Bend.

Bain’s topic will be “Start with the Student: Research on How Students Learn.” He will highlight research featured in his book, “What the Best College Teachers Do.”

His book won the Virginia and Warren Stone Prize awarded every year by Harvard University Press for outstanding books on education and society.
