Eight High Schools Participate in Annual Math Competition
Penn High School took top honors in the 27th Annual South Bend Area High School Mathematics Competition at Indiana University South Bend. Eight area high schools and 126 students participated in the March 11 event.
The competition was organized by the Department of Mathematical Sciences, IU South Bend.
Individuals and teams competed in four class levels: freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior. Trophies were awarded to the top five individual contestants and the first place teams in each class. In addition, awards were given to the three overall best individuals, and certificates were awarded to the best three teams in each class level.
Penn students took the individual awards, overall winners and the top awards in the team divisions.
