Criminal Justice Expert to Speak
Mario Paparozzi, a criminal justice expert, will speak on “The Politics and Science of Policymaking in Criminal Justice” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, in Room 225, of the Student Activities Center, Indiana University South Bend.
The Criminal Justice Association (CJA) of IU South Bend invites the public to this free event. Paparozzi will speak for 45 minutes followed by 15 minutes of questions from the audience.
Paparozzi is the chair of the Department of Sociology, Social Work and Criminal Justice at the University of North Carolina – Pembroke. He has published on a variety of topics related to criminal justice, public administration, and other civic issues involving the relationship between government services and public values.
He has served as an expert witness in civil and criminal justice litigation, providing analyses and opinions related to the administration of the courts and correction. He has appeared on several television and radio shows in the U.S. and Canada including AandE’s “Investigative Reports,” NBC’s “Dateline” and Geraldo Rivera.
The CJA is an active student-run organization at IU South Bend committed to conducting activities that enhance student experience.
