Elkhart resident Dina Harris has been named director of foundation relations at Indiana University South Bend. Harris is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and has been in the area since 1979. She began her new position on April 23.

Her previous position was development manger at Greencroft Retirement Communities, Goshen, where she was the lead grant writer raising more the $480,000 and tripled sponsorship commitments. She joined Greencroft in September 2002 as foundation associate. In October 2005, she was promoted to development manager.

Harris has a bachelor’s degree in education from Ohio State University, and a master’s degree in education from Boston University. She taught in the Elkhart area, and Parma and Berea, both in Ohio.

She is active in the Kiwanis Club, the YWCA of Elkhart County and several other organizations.
