Each year the Indiana University South Bend School of Business and Economics presents this award for distinguished achievement, leadership and contributions to the advancement of business and quality of life in Michiana.

Phid Wells has an enviable record of achievement through her community volunteer activities. She is currently a mentor at Riverview Elementary School and is involved with the Elkhart Country Wraparound Process as a member of the Community Team and Plan Review Panel.

Wells is a board member of Oaklawn and United Way of Elkhart County, and is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Elkhart where she has previously served as an elder, trustee and teacher. She also claims an extensive history of involvement with groups promoting child welfare and community enrichment throughout Michiana.

Wells is the wife of Jeff Wells and the mother of two daughters, Allis Gritton of Indianapolis and Hilary Barett of Dallas, TX. She is a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington with a degree in business education.

The awards ceremony was hosted by the Skyline Corp. of Elkhart.
