About 20 local artists and musicians will take part in the Saturday Arts Market (SAM) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays in the lower level café, Northside Hall, Indiana University South Bend.

The market is scheduled every Saturday through Dec. 6 at IU South Bend. The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the student organization Social Karma. The group expects artists as well as musicians and poets to share their work.

Popcorn and sodas will be available.

Social Karma’s goal is to highlight IU South Bend’s contributions to art, entertainment and community service.

The idea derived from a similar Saturday art market in Portland, Ore.

Artists can come and share their work the day of the event. For further information, call (219) 629-4491 or socialkarma@hotmail.com.
