Stephen Thorman, associate professor of physics and computer science at Andrews University, will speak at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, in Room 152, Northside Hall, Indiana University South Bend.
His topic will be “Iridescent Colors in Computer Generated Imagery.” He will explain about the mechanisms in nature that produce iridescent colors and how the shading models in computer graphics can be adapted to create imagery that exhibits iridescent coloration.
The talk, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the IUSB Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery.
