Richard Gorsuch, professor of psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, Calif., will speak at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Indiana University South Bend. The lecture will be in Room 1001, Wiekamp Hall.
His topic is "Social Psychology and Spirituality Meet on the Thai-Burma Border." He will discuss how psychology can help with people where they live, even across cultures.
Gorsuch is internationally recognized as both a psychologist of religion and a mathematician. He has a doctorate in psychology from the University of Illinois, master's degree of divinity from Vanderbilt University. He is an ordained minister.
He has written more than 140 articles and various chapters in publications.
The talk is co-sponsored by the College of Liberal Art and Sciences, the history and mathematics departments, the religious studies committee and the social psychology of religion laboratory.
