J. Jeffrey Jones was recently named vice chancellor of student affairs and enrollment management at Indiana University South Bend. He started his new role on Nov. 1.
Jones most recently served as the associate vice chancellor for engagement at Purdue University North Central, Westville, Ind. He also was an assistant professor of organizational leadership in the College of Business.
He has been with Purdue since 1984 working in a variety of roles, such as assistant vice chancellor for enrollment management, director of enrollment and marketing, director of campus relations, acting director of external funding, director of continuing education and assistant director of admissions and placement.
Jones also taught organizational communications, speech and principles of electronic media.
Outside of the academic world, he was a freelance reporter for the Michigan City Dispatch with a weekly golf column, a consultant, an operations manager, a production scheduler and expediter, workshop manger and an owner of a real estate and property management business.
He received his doctorate in education from Purdue University, Lafayette; master's degree from Purdue University Calumet and bachelor's degree from St. Joseph's College, Rensselaer, Ind.
Jones currently serves at the president of the Michigan City Area Schools Board of Trustees, former member and chair of the board of directors of the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce, member and former president of the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Michigan City.
