Indiana University’s 2002-2003 Alumni Membership Challenge ended this year with Indiana University South Bend and the IU Alumni Club of St. Joseph County winning top honors in their categories.
The drive, held during Sept. 1, 2002 through Aug. 31, 2003, saw IU constituencies worldwide—campuses, schools, and other groups within the IU system— competing for memberships. Honors went to constituencies with the largest percentage increase of paid members, with a minimum increase of 5 percent.
IU South Bend placed first among constituencies in their size category, with an increase of 11.94 percent or 177 paid members.
Also, for the in-state competition (which includes clubs in regions adjacent to Indiana such as Chicago, Louisville/Southern Indiana and Cincinnati), the IU Alumni Club of St. Joseph County placed first with an increase of 13.13 percent or 173 paid members. In-state alumni clubs include members who reside in the club’s region, but may have graduated from other campuses.
IU South Bend has been awarded an additional dues allocation of $2,000. The IU Alumni Club of St. Joseph County will be rewarded with a visit from IU Head Basketball Coach Mike Davis, who will come to speak at a club-sponsored event Dec. 10.
