World War II Movie to be Shown at IU South Bend
The film "Red White Black and Blue" will be shown at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, in Room 1001, Wiekamp Hall, Indiana University South Bend.
The film's producer and one of the cinematographers is Matt Radecki, a former South Bend resident. Radecki will answer questions after the screening at IU South Bend
The movie is free and open to the public.
The film tells the story of one of World War II's clashes, the Battle of Attu, Alaska. It was the only American territory to be captured since the War of 1812. Radecki and his partners traveled to Attu with two WWII veterans and they tell their recollections as they walk across the island.
The film also will be screened on the PBS’s “Independent Lens” Series on Nov. 6. It will be shown at 11 p.m. on WNIT Channel 34. The lens series was interested in "Red White Black and Blue" as a companion piece to the Ken Burns' documentary on World War II.
