IMPORTANT NOTICE!!! and Special Newsletter Edition Available Fall 2001 Advanced Lab and Future Labs Recent circumstances necessitated a change in order for the advanced labs to be offered in the semesters beginning with Fall 2001. The P420: Lab in Community Psychology will be delayed one year, from Fall 2001 to Fall 2002. Instead, the P421: Lab in Social Psychology will be offered in Fall 2001 and P435: Lab in Learning and Cognition will be offered in Spring 2002. The most important and pressing issue of these changes is for those who plan to enroll in Social Lab in the Fall 2001 semester. All those who take that lab MUST complete P320 prior to Fall 2001 to be permitted to enroll. There are sections of P320 offered in both Spring 2001 and Summer Session I 2001. More information about these changes may be found in a special newsletter edition that was mailed to majors in late November. That special newsletter is available in as a PDF file as well. To read PDF formatted files, you will need Adobe's Acrobat Reader (available for download free for PCs or Macintosh computers at Adobe's website). |

The Psychology Club recently performed an important service to the Michiana community. They selected the Center for the Homeless as the local group for which they would work this year. The club members decided to serve through the "Shoebox Project." The Shoebox is a "care package" of toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, combs, soap, shaving cream, etc. given to each person who comes to the Center for the Homeless (gender specific boxes are assembled). Psychology Club set up a table in the lobby of Wiekamp Hall for a week in March to raise funds/donations for the materials to go in the Shoeboxes. In addition to donations of items, they also raised a little over $300 in that time. The funds were used to buy toiletries to supplement those donated during the drive. The students gathered and the boxes were put together the week of April 10. The Club recently delivered the assembled boxes to the Center for the Homeless. Students (as well as the Psychology Club Advisors, Drs. De Bryant and Julie Hernandez) can be seen at the right filling the boxes. Our appreciation goes out to the advisors as well as Sarah Guthrie, Psychology Club President, and all the other members who participated. Thank you for your dedication and service to the Michiana community! |

Construction: Our New "Neighbor"The hole in the ground that was located next to Wiekamp Hall has rapidly filled with a building. This new building is readily apparent as the main view from most of the windows in the psychology areas of Wiekamp. The Student Activities Center is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2001. This will be a major addition to the IUSB campus and the student experience here. Below is an artist's rendition of the front of the building.
