Changes for Research with Human Subjects
There are new requirements for researchers doing work with human subjects. NIH is requiring demonstration of the completion of an education program for all participants in human subjects research. We are working on ways to fulfill this requirement. More information can be found in IU Important Notice 00-5. The policy applies to all key personnel (investigators involved in the design or conduct of research involving human subjects).  The text of the education policy can be found at: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-00-039.html  To help explain this policy, the NIH has issued a page of Frequently Asked Questions for the Requirement for Education on the Protection of Human Subjects.  The URL for the FAQs is: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/policy/hs_educ_faq.htm

Recent Funding Opportunities

This is a very short, unrepresentative list of funding opportunities. It only reflects those hard copy RFPs that have been received by my office in the last month or so. A more comprehensive list of current funding opportunities can be found on the IU Granstlink. You can also search for funding opportunities using keywords from COS.
