  • IRB Update - After a year of oversight by Indiana University,  IUSB has regained responsibility for the IUSB Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects.  During the past year, the research office and the review board members have worked diligently to implement policies and procedures which will ensure that IUSB is in compliance with Title 45 Code of Federal Regulations Part 46 when research using human subjects is conducted by researchers associated with IUSB.  All research conducted under the auspices of IUSB or on the IUSB campus will be subject to review.

Beginning in November 2004, the IUSB Institutional Review Board will be able to process more efficiently those research protocols which are exempt or expedited, thus allowing researchers to undertake their research in a more timely manner.  Those protocols requiring full review will be processed at the IRB’s monthly meeting.

IUSB administrators and faculty thank IU for their help over the past year, and congratulate the members of the IUSB research office and IRB for accomplishing this task.

You can find more information, including a revised review schedule, at the IRB website (http://www.iusb.edu/~sbirb).

  • Workshop Opportunities: If you would like to attend a grant-related workshop on the Indianapolis or Bloomington campus, the Office of Research will pay for your travel. Check out what is available at http://www.iupui.edu/~resgrad/spon/workshopcontent.htm If there is enough interest in any specific topic we can arrange to have their presenters come to IUSB.

Recent Funding Opportunities

This is a very short, unrepresentative list of funding opportunities. It only reflects those hard copy RFPs that have been received by my office in the last month or so. A more comprehensive list of current funding opportunities can be found on the IU Granstlink. You can also search for funding opportunities using keywords from COS.
