Dear Research Administrator:
You are invited to the19
th annual meeting of the Indiana Forum for Research Administration this Thursday, July 26 – Friday, July 27 at the Purdue Campus in West Lafayette, Indiana. The conference is a great time to relax, discuss issues of research administration, and get to know your colleagues around the state and region. At the concurrent sessions on Thursday, you have your choice of two topics:
Working with Grants.gov Applications, or NIH 101: What You Need to Know. The latter session will be the perfect precursor to the Friday morning NIH panel discussion.A panel of experts from the National Institutes of Health will join us on Friday morning for a live videoconference presentation on proposal submission and tracking systems. This is your chance to ask those burning questions about Grants.gov, the Commons system, or grant policy. At 10:45, Schoolhouse Partners, IFRA’s corporate sponsor, will share the features of their search engine GrantSelect. Right before lunch, (a good networking opportunity) we will hold the IFRA Business Meeting. This is your chance to nominate someone for the election of officers for the coming year. There are several leadership opportunities available for those interested in stepping up and shining. After lunch, a panel of experts from the Indiana State Board of Accounts will be there to field your questions about audit pitfalls and preparing for SAS 112. We will wrap up the day with the ever popular hot topics discussion to help us gain fresh perspectives on various issues with which we struggle daily. So, bring a couple of those topics to the meeting for discussion. You may be surprised to find that you are not alone in your frustrations!
Friday’s breakfast and lunch are included with your registration. A block of rooms has been reserved at Purdue’s Union Club Hotel for IFRA participants. To make your room reservation, please call 1-800-320-6291or 765-494-8913 and mention that you are with IFRA. The room block will be guaranteed only until
July 10, so make your reservation soon.On behalf of the Coordinating Committee, we look forward to an informative meeting and relaxing time together, and hope you will be able to join us.
Respectfully,
Dawn F. Underwood
