THE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE is pleased to announce the 2008-09 series of funding opportunities. The Faculty Research Grants can be for up to $8,000 to support any combination of summer salary and research expenses Curriculum Development grants can be for up to $3,000 to support expenses related to development of new courses or significant revisions to existing IUSB courses. Requests for summer salary for a Curriculum Development project must be well justified as above and beyond normal course prep work. Sample proposals are available on-line or upon request.  There will only be two rounds for funding. Proposals are due at the Office of Research, Academic Affairs (ezynda@iusb.edu) by 4:30 p.m. on 7 November 2008 and 6 March  2009.

Regional Campus Research Programs

The Research & Development committee consists of nine faculty members, who are appointed by the Executive Committee of the Academic Senate. The Contracts & Grants Coordinator, serves as an ex officio member. The Office of Research serves as liaison between applicants and the committee, which recommends awards to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. The committee meets several times during the academic year to evaluate proposals. Each fall it circulates copies of its policies and procedures, and each spring it publishes an annual report.
