Searching for
Funding Opportunities

The key to using on-line databases is "keywords." Keywords are
basically the subject areas and constituency groups you can relate to your
project. They can be matched electronically or through books and directories
to keywords supplied by grantors.
Use this list to develop a set of keywords
for your tailored specifically to your organization and project.

Grants.gov allows organizations to electronically find and apply for competitive
grant opportunities from all Federal grant-making agencies. Grants.gov is THE
single access point for over 900 grant programs offered by the 26 Federal
grant-making agencies.

Catalogue of Federal Domestic Assistance
(CFDA) - The online Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance gives you access
to a database of all Federal programs available to State and local governments
(including the District of Columbia); federally-recognized Indian tribal
governments; Territories (and possessions) of the United States; domestic
public, quasi-public, and private profit and nonprofit organizations and
institutions; specialized groups; and individuals.

initially developed by the Texas Research Administrators Group (TRAM).

solicitations, request for proposals, and program descriptions from various

Indiana Grantmakers Alliance The Indiana
Grantmakers Alliance, a membership association serving Indiana's grantmaking
community, is dedicated to fostering responsible and creative philanthropy
for the public good. The Alliance acts a catalyst for philanthropic action

best known for its non-profit arena discussion forums. Join more

Foundation Center - The Foundation
Center is an independent nonprofit information clearinghouse established
in 1956. The Center's mission is to foster public understanding of the
foundation field by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating
information on foundations, corporate giving, and related subjects. The
audiences that call on the Center's resources include grantseekers, grantmakers,
researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public.
