South Bend Heritage Foundation (1995 to
present): member of the Executive Committee, Board of Directors. The Foundation is a community
development organization whose mission is to coordinate human services for
inner city residents, to develop suitable housing in the inner city area,
and to provide representation in the political process.
Youth Advocacy Program, Indiana Affiliate
(1998-2001): member of the Board of Directors, Secretary in 2001. To work
with social service agencies to help youths find foster homes. Services
include licensing and maintaining foster homes, combating commercial sexual
exploitation of children, and developing youth service programs.
Redbud Community Retreat (RCR)
(1996 to 2000): member of the Board of Directors and SOCACT provides teams of
scientist-practitioners to evaluate the work of RCR with youth and adult
organizers. The RCR is a non-profit organization that promotes community
development education in a ten-county area in Northern Indiana and southern
Michigan, by establishing collaborative partnerships among local youth-serving
organizations, schools, colleges, government agencies, holy houses,
individuals, and civic-minded businesses.
