Requirements
To complete this step, you must have completed the previous section,
Accessing Storage, logged in
to your online drive, and created an html
folder. Also, you must have completed the Audacity section Saving
Audio or already have an audio file to transfer.
The purpose of creating the html folder in the last section was
to set up a Web-accessible folder. This is what we need for podcasting
later on, so now you must move your recording into your html
folder.
Transferring Files to Your IU South Bend Drive
—If you have not done so already, go into the html
folder you just created.
—Drag your recording from where you saved it into the
html folder.
—Remember the name of your recording file. This is important.
General Knowledge
Now that you have created your Web-accessible folder and moved your
recording there, it would be nice to be able to find it online.
—To access the contents of your html folder, type in
http://mypage.iusb.edu/~login/filename.
—Replace login with your IU South Bend
login name and filename with the name
of the recording you moved into the html
folder.
For example, assume your IU South Bend login name was dgottsch
and your file's name was test.mp3.
The address of your file would be http://mypage.iusb.edu/~dgottsch/test.mp3.
This is the address of a file that is used later on in the tutorial.
Congratulations! You are now fully ready to podcast.
