Updated scholarship processes are now available

As of January 29th, scholarships at IU South Bend have a new face.  There are now two ways of applying for scholarships: paper applications and the new online scholarship application. The paper applications will be processed in the same way as they have been in the past. These will require that you print the application, fill it out, and return it to the correct office by the deadline to be considered for a scholarship for the upcoming year.  Please check the deadlines for each scholarship.

Over 30 IU South Bend and 200 IU Foundation scholarships can be applied for by simply filling out the new online application.  These applications are chosen by using the information you provide on the online application. To be considered for IU Foundation scholarships, you must complete your online application by March 1.  To be considered for IU South Bend scholarships, you must complete your online application by March 1. To apply for these scholarships, you will need to log into your OneStart account; for instruction click here.

The application is accessed through the OneStart Student Self Service Page.  This application will gather information that will be compared to the criteria for over 30 IU South Bend scholarships. Students who meet scholarship criteria will automatically be included in the pool of applicants for each scholarship for which they qualify. Students who submit an application will also be considered for scholarships that are awarded by the IU Foundation if they meet the criteria.

Many IU South Bend scholarship applications can be printed from our Web site. Printable applications require the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. All other applications are available as stated in the description. Please pay close attention to the application deadlines to ensure that your application materials are received in the designated office by the deadline.

Applicants are notified of their status after the application deadline and as soon as decisions are made. E-mail is the official means of communication at IU South Bend. IU South Bend follows FERPA guidelines when sharing the names of scholarship recipients with the scholarship donors, campus, and general public.

Recipients are asked to write thank-you notes to their donor(s) in appreciation of their generosity.
Information regarding outside scholarships (scholarships that are chosen by persons not associated with the university) can be found by following the “outside resources” link on the left. The Office of Student Scholarships and the university are not responsible for selection of these scholarships, nor for the maintenance of the donors' sites.
