Resources

CollegeScholarships.org-has an easy to use index to hundreds of scholarships and grants. Users begin a search by choosing among general categories and then are guided to relevant scholarships. An alternate service allows students to create a login and profile. They also offer a number of scholarships through the Daniel Kovach Scholarship Foundation on the site listed as “Our Scholarships.”

Army Nurse Corps Association Scholarship Program
Pilot Club of South Bend-offering a $1,000 medical scholarship to a current junior who will return to IU South Bend for their senior year. Money is for tuition, fees, and/or books. Recipient will be notified in June. Applications must be returned to the Pilot Club by April 5. Click here for the printable application.

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
John Gyles Education Awards-available to students in both Canada and the United States as a result of a private benevolent endeavor established in 1990. Students must be accepted and enrolled into any area of study. Full Canadian or American citizenship and a minimum of a 2.7 cumulative GPA is required. Awards are up to $3,000. Filing date for mailing applications is June 1.
Awards scholarships to American undergraduates for study in foreign countries and world regions critical to U.S. national security
Indiana Homeland Security Foundation-20 Secure Indiana Scholarships (2 per Homeland Security district) to promote volunteerism. For more information, contact Keri Lawrence at klwawrence@dhs.in.gov or by phone at (317) 234-5721. Application deadline is November 26.
Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, Inc. Student Services
Sociedad Amigos De Colombia- Awards $1600 scholarships to Hispanic incoming and undergraduate students who are a resident of Indiana pursuing an Associates or Bachelor's degree.  Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 to apply, and must and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0 to receive the scholarship the second semester.  Scholarships are based on need.  Instructions for applying can be found hereApplication deadline is April 30.

Office of [American] Indian Education Programs
Catching the Dream- formerly the Native American Scholarship Fund, provides scholarships to students who are at least 1/4 Native American. Application deadline is April 15.
AAUW-for women 25 years of age or older who are enrolled in an accredited four-year college, an accredited junior of community college, or an accredited post-high school technical training program. In 2008 the South Bend branch will award two $500 scholarships and two $250 scholarships.
Career Women’s Guild of Elkhart County-for women who are furthering her education in order to enhance her career opportunities or re-enter the job market. Scholarship is worth $500 and is awarded to a woman from Elkhart County. Contact Marla Unger at marla_unger@keybank.com for more information. Applications must be returned to the Career Women’s Guild on or before April 11.

Joan Poindexter Scholarship is a $500 scholarship available from the Indiana National Organization for Women to a returning female student, age 23 or older, from Indiana who is involved in feminist activities.  Deadline is October 23.

Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund
Indiana Business & Professional Women's Foundation-Scholarships for women who are Indiana residents pursuing an undergraduate degree.
Women's Scholarship-Awarded to women over 30 years of age attending Bethel College, Indiana University South Bend, or Ivy Tech Community College North Central by the Kappa, Kappa, Kappa, Inc., Epsilon Lambda Chapter. Application deadline is April 20.

ela.org-Scholarships for women with physical disabilities
National Federation for the Blind- is offering the Kenneth Jernigan Scholarship and many others to students who are legally blind.  This is available to all incoming, undergraduate and graduate students. Application deadline is March 31.
Pulaski County Community Foundation, Inc.-Scholarships for students who live in Pulaski County, Indiana.
Starke County Scholarship Foundation- Contact Sally Hansen, (574) 772-3781, or write the Starke County Scholarship Foundation at 2480 South 350 East, Knox, IN 46534.
The Mutual of Omaha Minority Actuarial Scholarship is available to African-American, Hispanic, Native-American, Asian, Pacific Islander or Alaskan Eskimo students who have successfully completed at least 24 semester hours of schooling. One $5,000 scholarship is awarded to a student who will also have the opportunity to complete a summer Actuarial Intern position. Students must have a 3.0+ GPA, be eligible to work on a full-time continuous basis in the United States, and have successfully completed at least one Society of Actuaries exam.  Deadline is November 15th.

Indiana Sherriff' Association, Inc.- scholarships for current members, dependents, or grandchildren of current members of the association.  Applicants must be full-time students who are residents of Indiana and who are committed to pursuing an education and career in a law enforcement field. Application deadline is March 31.
Journeyx-for undergraduate and graduate students. Write an essay on time tracking for a chance to win the $500 Journyx Excellence in Project Accounting Philosophy Scholarship.
International Foundation for Electoral Systems- are accepting applications for the Charles and Kathleen Manatt Democracy Studies Fellowship Program.  The $5,000 stipend allows the chosen Manatt Fellows to work at their international headquarters in Washington, D.C. on international projects.  Graduate students working towards a degree in international relations, political science, public administration, or a related area are encouraged to apply.  For more information, click hereClick here for applicationApplication deadline is April 3.
SAP America, Inc. are looking to award up to fifteen $5,000 scholarships to outstanding junior (third year) or senior (fourth year) students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.  The scholarship is for tuition costs only.  Cumulative GPA must be at least 3.4/4.0.  Along with the application, applicants must submit a transcript, current resume, confirmation of community service donated within the last twelve months, and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member.  Applications are available at www.easymatch.com/sapscholarshipApplication deadline is June 1.
Education-Portal.com- a higher learning website designed to support students who are making decisions concerning their academic and employment future, is awarding their First Annual Undergraduate Academic Computer Science and Computer Engineering Scholarship.  The $1,000 scholarship is meant for students who are pursuing computer related academic majors.  Application deadline is April 1.
Indiana Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administration-  will award the $1000 Paul W. Guy Memorial Scholarship to a full- or part-time junior, senior, or graduate student majoring in human resources management, industrial relations, or business administration with a human resources management concentration.  The student must be a resident of Indiana who shows meritorious achievement through scholastic achievement as well as school, work, and community activities.  Requres a statement of career goals and the reason for choosing a career in human resources management.   Application deadline is May 3.
thepointfoundation.org-Scholarships for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students. Awards vary from $5,000 to $28,000 per year.
ASCO Numatics- is awarding two $5,000 merit-based scholarships to exceptional undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a program in engineering, instrumentation, systems, electircal, mechanical, or automation discipline.  The student must be a U.S. citizen or legal U.S. resident, junior status or above with a 3.2/4.0 GPA.  Applications must be submitted onlineApplication deadline is June 30.
TheMichiana/Surber Scholarship-will be offered by Michana Resources, Inc.  The $500 scholarship is available to Special Education majors who will be juniors or seniors, are residents of LaPorte County, have a cumulative GPA of 2.5+, and can demonstrate community engagement.  Application deadline is July 1.
Wal-Mart-scholarships to both employees' families and to those who do not work within their corporation.
The SoccerPro "Awesomeness" Scholarship

Education-Portal.com lists several scholarships available.  Deadline is April 1.

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program is accepting applications.  Deadlines vary according to field.

Indiana Retired Teachers Association

Housing Authority of South Bend have twelve $2,500 scholarships for qualified residents who live in public housing homes or receive housing choice vouchers.  Students require a letter of recommendation letter.  Interested applicants should call Stephanie Ball (574)  235-9890 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. regarding the letter.  The application is available online at their websiteApplication deadline is April 30.
