Application for Financial Aid for scholarship

Charles W. Cole Scholarship
Applicants who ranked below the top 10 percent of their high school class,
are residents of St. Joseph County or adjacent Indiana counties, are pursuing a
bachelor's degree on a full- or part-time basis, and have financial need are
considered for this scholarship. Awards vary depending on the availability
of funds. The award is currently a maximum of $1,750 per semester for
tuition, fees, parking, and books. Additional funds for childcare at the IU South Bend
Child
Development Center and summer enrollment may be possible. Recipients may reapply each year. Renewal
awards require a GPA of 2.5 per semester and attendance in at least two
of the four academic terms per year.

Emergency Assistance Scholarships
These are need-based scholarships available for students who, without the aid of the scholarship, are unable to continue to attend IU South Bend. Applicants are required to file a FAFSA or an Alternative Needs Analysis, and may be asked to document requested information. Recipients are given the opportunity to attend a Paying for College Workshop during the semester. These are very LIMITED in number and amounts available are dependent upon funds. Articulation Grant for Graduate Students
This grant assists residents of southwestern
Michigan who are enrolled in graduate programs at IU South Bend by providing a
need-based nonresident tuition grant. Award amounts vary depending on the
program and the number of credits in which a student is enrolled. Applications are at the Office of Student Scholarships and in each graduate program office.

Jack and Sherron Schuster Scholarship
This scholarship is for students with need who are U.S. citizens and residents of Elkhart County, and are taking at least one course at the
Elkhart Center during the semester they receive the scholarship. The student must be a second-semester freshman, sophomore, or junior, majoring in education,
nursing, or
accounting. The student must show academic excellence as demonstrated by a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. The spring 2008 scholarship is valued at $1,250.
