This scholarship assists IU South Bend theatre majors in paying tuition. The amount of the scholarship is determined by available funds. The Ernestine M. Raclin School of the
Arts selects recipients.
Robert W. Demaree Jr. Scholarship

William M. and Lucille E. Gering Scholarship
The recipient(s) is enrolled in the Raclin School
of the Arts, has an interest in the study of

Langland Fine Arts Scholarship
This $1,200 scholarship is for an IU South Bend student enrolled in either the bachelor of arts or
the bachelor of fine arts program entering their junior year. Awarded on artistic abilities in a studio discipline, an outstanding academic record, interest in other areas of knowledge, and a contribution to the community at large.
Rex and Alice A Martin Fellowship in Piano
A fellowship in piano for the highest caliber full-time graduate piano student with a declared piano major in the Toradze Piano Studio. The fellowship(s) is renewable on an annual basis, provided the student meets the criteria and expectations of the director and dean.
John C. and Georgia Ward-Bryant Scholarship Fund
The $500 scholarship is awarded to a student beginning fall 2008 who is a
music major or minor in the Raclin School
of the Arts. The recipient is nominated for the award by a member of the
music area faculty, and is based upon excellence in musical performance as
demonstrated in auditions, semester performance juries, and/or student recitals.

This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a student member of
Beta Gamma Sigma, the

Paul J. and Deborah A. Cafiero Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Business and Economics who have a record of academic excellence as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
Preference is given to students who have demonstrated participation in community service. Application deadline is February 20.
Chase Scholarship
This $500 award requires full time undergraduate enrollment and a family income below 80
percent
of the median income in the St. Joseph or Elkhart county metropolitan
statistical areas. Preference is given to a student majoring in business
or economics. Application deadline is February 20.
Donald Cline Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is for undergraduate students with at least a 3.0
GPA. Applicants must be enrolled in the School of Business and Economics and
major in accounting.

Coachmen Industries Scholarship
This $2,500 scholarship is for full-time undergraduate business students who have a minimum of a 2.5/4.0 cumulative grade point average.
Preference is given to students
with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Consideration is given to applicants who are employees of
Coachmen Industries
or family members of employees.

Crowe Chizek and Company Accounting Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate
accounting
major.
CTS Foundation Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate
finance
major and/or
graduate accounting
major. The recipient of the graduate scholarship must be a student who does not
receive funding from their employer.
Finance Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate
finance
major.
Gerald E. Harriman Scholarship in Business & Economics
This $750 scholarship is awarded to students with junior status at the time of
application, major in
business
or economics, and have at least a 3.0 GPA. Application deadline is February 20.
James D. and Shirley A. Kowalski Entrepreneurship Scholarship
These are tuition remission scholarships that return $500 per course
for successful completion of any or all of the following courses: W311
New Venture Creation, W406
Venture Growth Management, and W408
Small Business Practicum.
RSM McGladrey Accounting Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate accounting majors with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0. Other factors considered are students’ character and level of participation in extracurricular activities. The recipient of this scholarship must enroll in the following fall semester to receive the scholarship. Application deadline is February 20.
Sharon Rose Miller Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a female undergraduate student enrolled in
the School of Business and Economics
who has a minimum 3.5/4.0 GPA and financial need. The recipient may reapply for
the scholarship in subsequent years; it is not automatically renewable. Application deadline is
February 20.
Manohar D. Nasta Memorial Scholarship
This $1,500 scholarship is for IU South Bend juniors with a GPA of at least 3.0 and a
concentration in management
and administration. Application deadline is

James Pattillo Memorial Scholarship
The
$1,000 scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student in the undergraduate
accounting
or master of
accounting program. Application deadline is February 20.
Robert N. Robinson Scholarship
Two $3,500 tuition scholarships are
awarded annually to outstanding undergraduate students in the
accounting program.
Candidates must have a
cumulative 3.0 GPA, at least junior standing at the time of
application, and have completed at least 15 credit hours of accounting classes
at IU South Bend (including Introductory
Accounting). Application deadline is February 20.
John R. Swanda Jr. Ethics Award
This $750 award is given to an outstanding business student who best
exemplifies the highest standards of business ethics and professional behavior.
Underrepresented Student Scholarship
The $500 scholarships are awarded to meritorious African American, Hispanic,
or Native American undergraduate students majoring in
business or
economics. These
scholarships are intended to facilitate the School of Business and
Economics' efforts to provide educational opportunities to the entire
community. Three scholarships are awarded annually. Application deadline is February 20.
George A. Wing Memorial Scholarship in Economics and Finance
Two $1,000 scholarships are awarded
annually to undergraduate students currently majoring in economics or
finance who
have completed 12 or more credit hours in economics or
finance
and plan on taking at least 6 credit hours at IU South Bend in the following

American Dental Association Endowment and Assistance Fund
Applicants must be enrolled as entering or first-year students at the
time of application. The maximum award is $1,000 to defray school expenses. Contact the American Dental

North Central Dental Society Dental Assisting Grant
Applicants must be residents of Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, Marshall, St. Joseph,
or Starke county and present evidence of financial need. Contact the IU South Bend

Juliette A. Southard/Oral-B Laboratories Scholarship
This scholarship is available to a student who is an ADAA member or an ADAA
student member. Two letters of reference are required: one from a dental
professional and the other from a person of the applicant's own choice.

Carol Dee Minichillo Memorial Scholarship
Applicants must be accepted into the IU South Bend
dental hygiene
program (full- or part-time), must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, demonstrate strong
potential for becoming an outstanding member of the dental hygiene
profession, and show evidence of financial need. Information is available at the
dental education

National Dental Association Foundation
This fund provides scholarships for underrepresented minority
students. An applicant must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
Applicants should submit a personal letter, two letters of
recommendation, the FAFSA,
and the IU South Bend Application for Financial Aid. Applicants must also be a first- or
second-year student and maintain a membership in the Student National Dental Hygienist Association. Contact
the National Dental Hygiene Association for details. Application deadline is
November 1.

ADHA Institute Scholarship

Richmond E. Calvin Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to an African American sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in education.
Students are selected based on academic performance and financial need. Preference is given to full-time students. Students can apply
for renewal and receive funding for a maximum of three years. Application deadline is March 1.
Faculty Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate education majors
enrolled in more than 6 credit hours per semester. The award is based on merit
and need. Preference is given to applicants with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Application deadline is April 1.
Wayne J. Krepel Scholarship
The scholarship is for junior and senior students enrolled in the School of
Education with an interest in becoming a teacher. Requirements are a minimum 2.5
GPA and financial need as determined by the FAFSA.
Miholic Loan
This fund provides low-interest financial assistance to a student in the special education teacher preparation program. The loan is open to current and entering undergraduate and graduate students preparing for licensure in some area of special education. Applicants must show promise for completing the program within three years.
Minority Teacher and Special Education Services Scholarship
Applicants must be a minority (defined as Black or Hispanic) student seeking a special education teaching degree, or
their occupational or physical therapy certification; and an Indiana resident admitted as a full-time student. A 2.0 GPA is required. Those awarded the
scholarship must teach in an Indiana school or practice in the fields of occupational or
physical therapy for three out of five years following graduation. The
applications are available March 1; the application deadline is June 1.
James and Marilyn Parent Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is presented to an
undergraduate education major who has at least a 3.5 GPA, has
completed at least four semesters (48 hours) of full time enrollment at
IU South Bend, and has previously completed or is currently enrolled in student
teaching. The individual selected must show a commitment to children
and/or adolescents in school and in the community. Qualified applicants
will be invited to apply during the spring semester.
Rutherford B. Porter Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is open to full-time traditional junior, senior, or
graduate students with a declared major in special education; or a part-time,
nontraditional student working on a special education endorsement. Application deadline is April 19.
Elisabeth Sailor Memorial Scholarship
The $500 scholarship is
presented to a sophomore/junior undergraduate education major who has a
cumulative GPA of 3.5. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 48
semester hours (full-time for 4 semesters) by the spring of the year of
application. Qualified applicants will be invited to apply.
Joseph and Wilma Stoner Scholarship
This $500 scholarship provides assistance to students who are admitted to
the teacher education program. Preference is given to students who are single
parents through divorce or spousal death and who are gainfully employed outside
the home. Application deadline is April 1.

who meet the criteria are considered for the scholarship and merit awards.
Scholarships are awarded based on a student's cumulative grade point average and
number of IU credit hours. Merit awards are given based on a student's grade
point average for the year immediately preceding the award year. A student must
have been on the Dean's List for both the fall and spring semester of the year
immediately preceding the award year to be eligible for the scholarship or merit
awards.

Division of Labor Studies Educational Assistance Fund
The Indiana University
Division of Labor Studies (DLS) Educational Assistance Fund (EAF) is designed to provide limited financial aid to
union activists who are enrolled in the credit or non-credit programs of
the DLS. This fund is intended primarily for those
without access to other forms of financial aid. Grants are used only
for tuition and fees for classes available through the Division of Labor
Studies. Applications are available at the IU South Bend
Office of Labor Studies; the
application deadline is thirty days prior to the starting date of the
course.

This scholarship provides current undergraduate and graduate students majoring in the
Department of Mathematical Sciences at IU South Bend with financial assistance in completing their degrees. Preference is given to students who have international experience or interests.

Michael S. Coffman, M. D., Fund Scholarship
The Michael S. Coffman, M. D., Fund Scholarship was established to provide financial support to
student enrolled at IU South Bend and majoring in
biological science. Preference is given to pre-medical
students or students who are engaged in research in the
biology department at IU South Bend.
The award is open to current and entering undergraduate students. Applicants
must be admitted to, or currently attending, IU South Bend. Application deadline is April 1.
CTS Continuing Student Scholarship in Physics
These scholarships
provide at least $500 of support beyond the freshman year for full-time students who are majoring in
physics at IU South Bend. Recipients
are selected on the basis of completed university-level course work and the recommendations of faculty members familiar with their

CTS Freshman Scholarship in Physics
These scholarships provide
at least $1,000 of support during the freshman year for students studying full time toward a degree in
physics. Recipients are
selected on the basis of high school transcripts, standardized test scores (SAT/ACT), recommendations from individuals familiar with the
applicant's work in high school, and an essay describing the applicant's goals in studying physics. Recipients of a CTS
Freshman Scholarship who continue in good academic standing and make satisfactory progress toward a degree in physics
are eligible
for CTS Continuing Student Scholarships for up to three additional years of full-time study at IU South Bend.

This scholarship provides a $1,000 merit award to students in
chemistry,
computer science,
informatics,
mathematics, or
physics.
Students must have attained a minimum of 48 semester hours by the end of the spring semester with a GPA
of 3.5 or higher. A letter of application and one letter of reference
from a faculty member in the student's major field is required. Apply to the Office of

Ann Grens Biology Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is awarded to a biological sciences major who
demonstrates the motivation for academic success, commitment to peer mentoring,
and compassion for helping others that characterizes
Dr. Ann Grens' outstanding
contribution to students. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and have
completed BIOL-L 101,
BIOL-L 102, and at least one upper level
biology course.

William J. Knight Scholarship
This scholarship provides financial support for computer science students at IU South Bend with potential for excellent academic achievement. Applications are available at the

George Nazaroff Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to chemistry students entering their senior year of study at IU South Bend. Criteria include a 3.0 GPA in chemistry and 2.5 cumulative GPA, contribution to departmental activities, hard work, and an intellectual attitude. Information and applications are available at the

Philosophy Alumni Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded every two years to a student majoring in
philosophy. The
amount of the award is determined by the available funds at the time of the

J. Wesley and Roberta Robbins Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is a merit award for the academic year. Applicants
must have completed a minimum of 48 semester hours by the end of the spring
semester and have at least 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to those who exhibit
an interest in the
interaction of science and religion by their course work and stated research

Catherine Romano-Orth
This $500 scholarship is a merit award for the academic year. Applicants must be admitted or enrolled with a declared intent
to complete a degree in sociology or
women's studies. Applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by the

office, and must have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3, for continuing students, or have ranked in the upper third of their high school class
for entering freshmen. Preference is given to single parents who have sole or
shared responsibility for minor children. Application are available in the

Harriett J. Dodd Nursing Scholarship
Recipients are carefully selected based on academic
achievements, extracurricular activities, service to others, financial
need, work experience, and recommendations. The scholarships, which are
for tuition only, are available to students without a registered nursing
license and are beginning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
degree. Application deadline is June 1.
Raymond and Frances B. Grandorf Scholarship
Recipients are selected based
on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community service,
financial need, and recommendations. Scholarships are available for BSN
and RN/BSN students enrolled in clinical courses. Applicants must be
formally admitted to IU South Bend, enroll in the BSN or RN/BSN program, have a
cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, demonstrate financial need, participate in extracurricular activities or service to the community,
and submit at least one recommendation. Application deadline is March 1.
Indiana University School of Nursing
Each year approximately 15 scholarships are available from the IU School
of Nursing. Applications are available in February and are due by March 1.
Nursing Scholarship Fund Program [State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana (SSACI)]
Applicants must be admitted to IU South Bend as a full-time (12 hours or more)
or part-time (6-11 hours) nursing student, be an Indiana resident, and agree
in writing to work in any type of Indiana health care setting for at least
two years following graduation. Applicants must demonstrate financial
need, and have a GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or meet the
minimum GPA requirements established for the university's nursing program.
Consideration is not given to anyone in default on a state- or
federally-sponsored student loan. Application deadline is May 15.
John O'Connor Nursing Scholarship
Recipients are carefully selected based on academic
achievements, extracurricular activities, service to others, financial
need, work experience, and recommendations. The scholarship, for female
students, covers tuition only and is for individuals not holding a
registered nursing license, but who are beginning the Bachelor of Science
in Nursing degree. Application deadline is June 1.
William S. and Kathryn L. Shields Distinguished Nursing Scholarship
Recipients are
selected based on academic achievements, extracurricular activities,
service to others, financial need, work experience, and recommendations.
The scholarships, which are for tuition only, are available to
undergraduate students pursuing a four-year degree in nursing. The scholarship
is for students with the
potential for making outstanding contributions to the nursing profession.
Applicants must be formally admitted to IU South Bend, enroll full time in the
baccalaureate nursing program (sophomore, junior, or senior), have a
cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above, demonstrate financial need, participate
in extracurricular activities or service to the community, and submit at
least one recommendation from an employer and/or college or high school
faculty member. Application deadline is March 1.

Walt Risler Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship is available for students pursuing a Bachelor of
Science in Criminal Justice. To be considered for this award, applicants must have at least
a 3.0 GPA in criminal justice core courses, completed a minimum of
40 credit hours, and submit a typed essay addressing the following areas:
(1) why you feel you should receive the scholarship, and (2) your career plans.
In addition, applicants must complete the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the IU South Bend
Application for Financial Aid. The award is applied to tuition and
fees for one semester or the academic year. Application deadline is March 15.

Radiography Education Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is given to undergraduate students who are formally
admitted to the clinical professional program in radiography at IU South Bend,
demonstrate financial need, and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA for all clinical
course work within the clinical professional program.
