Interests
I am Professor of Sociology and Director of the Master of Liberal Studies Program. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame in 1995. My areas of academic interest include the history of sociology, urban society, and postmodernism. I have published on the history of American sociology. For the last 10 years I have been working with Professor Janusz Mucha of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Poland to explore the recent history of sociology in Central and Eastern Europe. We are working on our third book in this area. I am currently involved in local urban planning and green development activities. In a nod to my postmodern interests, my wife and I love to prepare "cross-continental cuisine."
