Ancestral African
& African American Connections: Their Legacy in the Arts &
Humanities
A collaborative Project with
Indiana University South Bend's School of Education, the Northern Indiana Center for History,
Notre Dame's Snite Museum of Art, and the South Bend Regional Museum of
Art exploring with teachers the integration of African Connections across
the curriculum. Includes an interactive lesson plan site. Supported in part by the National Endowment
for the Humanities this site provides resources for educators interested in
exploring with their students connections between ancestral African and
African American cultures, particularly the west African Yoruba culture. A
collection of African and African American links is included.

Meeting The Maasai
Supported in part by the Indiana Humanities Council this project provides resources
for educators interested in exploring the Maasai culture. Area
educators may check out elementary, middle grades, or secondary "kits"
from IUSB's Learning Resource Center (LRC). The large wheeled containers
include artifacts, books for teachers and students, as well as curriculum
binders with lesson plans and resources.
