Date: Tuesday, May 9th
Time: Venue doors open at 4:30pm. Seating is first come, first served.
Graduates should arrive at the Field House no later than 5:45pm. Enter through Gate 10.
Processional of graduates into the Joyce Center begins at 6:00pm. Ceremony begins at 6:30pm and lasts approximately 2 hours.
Where: The Joyce Center on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.
Names : To ensure the correct pronunciation of your name, please visit the table in the middle of the Field House to write the phonetic pronunciation of your name on the Walk Card you will receive from your school.
Parking: Use the large parking lot south of the Joyce Center. Parking is free
Tickets: Commencement is not a ticketed event. You may bring as many guests as you'd like
Diplomas: The Registrar’s Office will send you a postcard when Diplomas are available for pickup/mailing.
Special Needs: If you have any special needs or use a wheelchair, please contact the Alumni Office in advance at 574-520-4381. If your guests have special needs, they will enter through the main entrance, Purcell Pavilion, as the elevators are located there. There will be an American Sign Language interpreter on stage. There is a wheelchair lift for graduates to cross the stage, and there will be assistance with the lift.
*Do not wear your cap and gown as you enter the Joyce Center for security reasons. Carry it in on a hangar and robe once inside.
*The gowns are to be returned after the ceremony that night in the boxes in the Fieldhouse. Undergraduates may keep the cap, tassel, and stole. Master's students may keep the tassel and cap (NOT the hood). Stop by the Alumni table after returning your robe and receive an IU lapel pin!
