Euclid Quartet String Studio to perform Mozart, Prokofiev, Fuchs


The Euclid Quartet String Studio will present its fall recital on Tuesday, December 4, at 7:30 pm in the Northside Recital Hall. The studio, composed of students of the Euclid Quartet, will present solo, duo, and small ensemble selections.

Concert-goers can expect to hear Kendrick Allenson perform Haydn’s Cello Concerto in D, Julia Beebe playing Max Bruch’s Romanze for Viola and Orchestra, and Helen Papas performing Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2 featuring.

The program will also highlight student ensembles with the first movement of Mozart’s Piano Quartet No. 1 in g minor, and No. IV Serh gemuth voll from Robert Fuchs’ Seven Fantasy Pieces for Violin, Viola, and Piano.

The studio is led by the Euclid Quartet, made up of violinists Jameson Cooper and Jacob Murphy, violist Luis Vargas, and cellist Si-Yan Darren Li. In 2007, the Euclid Quartet was appointed as the quartet-in-residence at IU South Bend, where the four of them teach private lessons and coach chamber music.
