Arts Foundation Board announces seat campaign

Louise E. Addicott and Yatish J. Joshi Performance Hall LobbyLouise E. Addicott and Yatish J. Joshi Performance Hall

Because of the vision of Louise E. Addicott, the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts at Indiana University South Bend will open the newly renovated Louise E. Addicott and Yatish J. Joshi Performance Hall in the spring of 2014.  The 224-seat performance hall will be a world class venue for the performances of chamber music, soloists, and small ensembles.  The performance hall will also include state-of-the-art recording equipment for students and faculty.  The renovations were made possible by a gifrt from the Georgina Joshi Foundation to honor the life and vision of Louise and her daughter Georgina who performed at the original hall.

The IU South Bend Arts Foundation Board has developed a unique opportunity for the community to contribute to the Lousie E. Addicott and Yatish J. Joshi Performance Hall. A gift of $500 will be recognized with the name of the donor or someone they want to honor engraved on a brass plate on the back of any of the seats in the first three rows. A gift of $275 will be recognized with a plate on a seat in the remaining eight rows. Characters are limited to first and last names.

The vision of Louise Addicott was to provide young musicians and singers with educational and career development opportunities and to encourage and support the public performance of music. Her vision will come to life in this new performance facility.

The Raclin School of the Arts is grateful for her vision and this gift to our community. Please join us in this wonderful opportunity. All contributions qualify for tax deduction under federal and state guidelines.
