Join us for the Fine Arts Weekend!
Invite your out-of-town friends and family to spend a weekend discovering the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts!
Kick off your visit on Thursday, April 11, by attending the BFA Student Art Exhibition opening reception from 4 to 6 pm with a gallery talk at 6 pm. Our talented graduating New Media and Visual Arts students will present their final exhibition with work focusing on their area of concentration.
After Thursday's exhibition, take a short walk to the Northside Hall Campus Auditorium to attend the opening of Pippin at 8 pm, presented by the IU South Bend Theatre and Dance Company. Performances will also be held at 8 pm on Friday, April 12, and Saturday, April 13, and at 2 pm on Sunday, April, 14.
The story of Prince Pippin's is a quest to find personal significance. Pippin traverses through the trials of war, love, and politics before finding himself out amongst the peasants—away from the wealth and privilege of royal life. This award winning musical debuted in 1972 and ran for nearly 2,000 performances on Broadway. Experience Pippin as presented by the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts.
On Friday, April 12, you’re invited to attend the reception of the Spring Juried High School Photography Exhibition, presented by the Photo League. The event will showcase black and white digital and film photography by 25 talented area high schoolers selected by photography faculty and photo league members.
We can’t wait for you to join us for a weekend of theatre, music, art, and community!
