Toradze pianists see success at summer competitions, festivals

ketevanSeveral past and current Toradze Piano Studio members experienced great success this summer at competitions and performances.

Ignasi Cambra performed Mozart piano concerto K 467 in San Sebastian, Spain, with the world-renowned Mariinsky orchestra and conductor Valery Gergiev. Cambra will perform again with Gergiev on February 11 in Barcelona.

In July, Marianna Prjevalskaya competed at the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati. She won the gold medal, a prize of $20,000, and a New York recital debut and recording contract with Fanfare. Toradze student Nikita Abrosimov won this competition in 2011.

In July, Ketevan Kartvelishvili won first prize at the Jacob Flier International Piano Competition in New Paltz, New York.
