Euclid Quartet students to peform in Art Gallery
Enjoy an evening of music surrounded by art at the Euclid Quartet String Studio's spring recital in the Art Gallery of the Education and Arts Building. Students of the school of the arts' resident Euclid Quartet will present solo, duo, and small ensemble selections.
The concert will be held Wednesday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m.
Concert-goers can expect to hear Katherine Price perform Heinrich Franz von Biber’s Passacaglia in g minor for solo violin, and performances by Kendrick Allenson on cello, Taisiya Sokolova and Jose Rodriguez on viola, Helen Pappas on violin, and others. The program will also highlight student ensembles playing Brahm’s Trio for viola, cello, and piano, among other selections.
The studio is led by the Euclid Quartet, made up of violinists Jameson Cooper and Jacob Murphy, violist Luis Vargas, and cellist Si-Yan Darren Li. In 2007, the Euclid Quartet was appointed the quartet-in-residence at IU South Bend, where the four of them teach private lessons and coach chamber music.
Tickets for the Euclid Quartet String Studio are available for $3 in advance and $5 at the door. Tickets for students and children are free. For more information or to order tickets please visit arts.iusb.edu or call the arts box office at 574.520.4203.
