Spring Speech Night on the horizon

IU South Bend’s best student orators will soon duke it out at the microphone at this spring’s Speech Night.

Presented by the public speaking program, Speech Night is a long standing tradition including three preliminary round events followed by Speech Night Finals.

Every semester one student is selected from each discussion section of Public Speaking to present his or her persuasive speech in a preliminary round. Then, two students are chosen to present their speeches at Speech Night finals. Guest speakers from within the S121 program will be present, as well as guest judges from the community.

Speech Night begins Monday, April 14, and runs through Wednesday, April 16, with the finals on Monday, April 21.

Admission to all Speech Night events is free but tickets are required. All events take place in the Lecture Hall of the Education and Arts building. Admission is free.\

For more information and to order tickets visit or call the arts box office at 574.520.4203.
