The Euclid Quartet recently hosted a string workshop on sound production for high school-age string students in Michiana.

On Saturday, January 11, 65 music students arrived on campus for a full day of sound production demonstrations, a masterclass on tone, a group mini-performance and a pizza reception. During the masterclass portion of the workshop, four students had the chance to perform a solo.

During the afternoon-long workshop, students had a chance to work on getting the best possible sound from their instruments through exercises, demonstrations, and discussions.

The Euclid Quartet, IU South Bend's world-renowned resident ensemble, gave a performance for the young musicians.

The event was free for participating students.
