Euclid Quartet presents their studio in recital

Euclid Quartet String StudioThe Euclid Quartet will present their students in recital at the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, April 4.  The performance will take place in Northside’s Recital Hall. The Euclid Quartet consists of music faculty and violinists Jameson Cooper and Jacob Murphy, violist Luis Vargas, and cellist Si-Yan Darren Li. 

In 2007, the Euclid Quartet was appointed the quartet-in-residence at IU South Bend, where the four of them teach private lessons and coach chamber music. 

This semester their studio recital will include performances by violinist Helen Pappas playing movements from Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 and violist Julia Beebe performing a movement of Hoffmeister’s Viola Concerto in D.  Violinist Ting Yang will present Prokofiev’s Solo Violin Sonata.  Two cello performances will include Kendrick Allenson playing Haydn’s Cello Concerto in D and Jenny Lee performing Vivaldi’s Cello Sonata in E.  The performance will also include some chamber with the presentation of Fauré’s Piano Quartet in C.
