IU South Bend Wind Ensemble concert April 25

The Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts presents the IU South Bend Wind Ensemble at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, April 25.  The wind ensemble, directed by Assistant Professor of Music Kenneth Douglas, will perform in the Campus Auditorium of Northside Hall. The IU South Bend Wind Ensemble will be joined by the Clay High School Concert Band under the direction of Gary Kurtis.

The program will feature the music of J.S. Bach, Frank Erickson, Henry Fillmore, Percy Grainger, Gustav Holst, Robert W. Smith, and John Zdechlik, among others.  Also, featured on the concert will be IU South Bend student conductors Alyssa Cabrera and David Brennan.

Tickets for the IU South Bend Wind Ensemble are available through the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts Box Office for $5-$9 and are free to students and children.  Also, admission is free for anyone bringing non-perishable food items.  Donations will help support the Broadway Christian Parish United Methodist Church Food Pantry, which aids over 3,000 individuals per year.  There is an ongoing need for cereals, “helpers” (hamburger, tuna, spaghetti sauce), side dishes, and macaroni and cheese.  For more information about the Broadway Christian Parish Food Pantry, visit www.broadwayumcsb.org.
