Reflections and upcoming events
Dean Marvin V. Curtis
'Tis the season of sugar plums dancing in our shared memories that help remind us of the spectacular things we have accomplished this year. It is a season when lights shine with a special twinkle and the air is heavy with the scent of anticipation. It is a time to be reflective about the year that has passed and anxious about the year to come.
The Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts celebrates this festive time of year with performances of Amahl and the Night Visitors on campus and in Chicago. The annual Speech Night finals occur this month. Our choirs, along with the Adams and Washington high schools' choirs, will perform Handel's Messiah at our annual Teddy Bear Concert. For the second year we are partnering with Ronald McDonald House at Memorial Hospital to collect teddy bears for their patients. Concert goers who donate a teddy bear will receive a free concert ticket. The BFA Art Show featuring the work of Joshua Miller, which will be in the East Lounge in Northside Hall. This is a season where we demonstrate how we are inspired by things around us. We continue to aspire, not only to demonstrate our talent, but to touch those who witness our accomplishments. Happy Holidays!!!
