February a busy month
Dean Marvin V. Curtis
February presents the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts with several great opportunities. The annual children's theater production opened February 10th with The Wind and the Willows, student directed by Stacey Jensen. We enjoyed a wonderful Valentine's event at Trio's restaurant featuring the Euclid Quartet. The month also features special presentations in sculpture and photography.
On the 26th of the month our annual “Lift Every Voice...Celebrating the African American Spirit” concert will feature the composition, Done Made My Vow: A Celebration by the African American composer Adolphus Hailstork. A special symposium on African American music will be held on Friday the 25th with Dr. Hailstork in attendance along withEbony Chorale of the Palm Beaches directed by Dr. Orville Lawton. The concert will open with the IU South Bend Gospel Choir and followed by Dr. Hailstork's work featuring the guest choir and the Symphonic Choir of South Bend.
We invite you to be a part of the events of the month as we aspire to create for our students and community opportunities for engagement in the arts in variety of ways.
