Summer Arts Camp 2012: High School Students Immersed in the Arts
In June 2012, the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts hosts the first Summer Arts Camp for high school students. The camp will serve approximately 100 students from South Bend Community Schools and will provide them with immersion experiences in Communication Studies, Music, New Media, Theatre & Dance, and Visual Arts.
Students will participate in intensive workshops ranging from digital photography and self-representation in the digital age to public speaking and interview skills; from modern dance and choreography to video production; from acting skills to musical improvisation.
Participants will work closely with IU South Bend faculty and students. Informational sessions on college preparedness are scheduled for high school students while they reside at our River Crossing apartments. At the end of the camp, students will be able to showcase their work at a final gala.
