IU South Bend Flute Festival brings over 50 musicians together
The 2011 IU South Bend Flute Festival brought over fifty flute musicians to campus on Saturday, March 5.
In workshops conducted by nationally-recognized clinicians, accomplished teachers and performers, along with flute students of all ages studied ways to enhance their technique.
In addition to attending workshops, the attendees visited with exhibitors from flute manufacturers, retailers, and music publishers.
At the end of the day clinicians Rebecca Hovan, Kathryn Blocki, Stacey Graham Steele, and Sherry Kujala performed a recital of new and challenging flute compositions. Following their performance a flute choir composed of all the festival musicians performed the final numbers of the recital. The IU South Bend Flute Festival is an annual event held each March.
