The Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts at Indiana University South Bend is pleased to announce that it will be holding an open house to showcase its various degree programs from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 22 at the IU Elkhart Center.  The school grants degrees in the areas of music, visual arts, theatre and dance, communication studies, and new media.

The Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts offers Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education, and Master of Music degrees.  Within each degree program there are a variety of concentrations and areas of study.  The coordinators of each creative program will be available to talk with students and the general public about the opportunities within the school.  Applications for admission and financial aid will also be available.

The Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts houses many performing musical ensembles including the Toradze Piano Studio, Euclid Quartet, IUSB Philharmonic, and the South Bend Symphonic Choir.  The theatre and dance area presents four mainstage productions each year that are supported through student staffed scene and costume shops.  Our visual arts and new media students show work in numerous exhibitions over the course of the academic year.  When the renovation of our gallery is complete we will be also present visiting artists and travelling exhibitions on campus.  In communication studies our students have the opportunity to participate in the award winning Debate Team, the school newspaper The Preface, or Speech Night.  We are also privileged to present guest artists at the school, who perform, exhibit, and work with students in masterclasses, and workshops.
