Agbetsiafa Wins Teaching Award

Douglas Agbetsiafa, professor of economics, is this year’s winner of the IU South Bend Distinguished Teaching Award.

Faculty members are nominated by administrators or other faculty members for outstanding teaching. A selection committee makes the final decision.
Agbetsiafa has been teaching at IU South Bend since 1978 and became a tenured professor in 1993. He received his doctorate in 1980 from the University of Notre Dame. He also holds degrees from the University of Western Ontario and the University of Ghana.

He is presently the chair of economics and from 1998 to 1999 he was the special assistant to the chancellor on using institutional data to make policy decisions
