Dean Robert H. Ducoffe
If you are a student here, or thinking of becoming one, you are at the beginning of an important period of personal and career growth.
Let me offer four suggestions. First, feel good about what you are doing. You are either in school or thinking about returning so you have already begun the process of transforming your career and your life. You are definitely on the right track!
Second, students that study business here learn a lot. Undergraduates from the Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics at Indiana University South Bend did better than 95 percent of students that took the business field examination administered by Educational Testing Service in Spring 2013! MBA students who took the exam in Summer 2013 semester, tested in the top 2 percent of students from around the country. To see more about these and other strong student outcomes on ETS exams over the past 10 years click the link.
Third, try to think of everything you can learn rather than everything you need to do to earn your degree. The faculty in the Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics, known for their scholarship, are devoted to teaching.
Fourth, finish. Find the time, the energy, or the money. Ask for help as there are many faculty and staff that will. Get past the tough test, missed assignment, bad grade, or semester off. Don't quit. Keep going until you earn your degree. Once you do, no one can ever take it away from you.
I look forward to getting to know you along the way, helping in any way I can, and shaking your hand when you graduate.
Best of luck,
Robert H. Ducoffe
