Profile

Before coming to Indiana University South Bend, Dr. Agbetsiafa taught at the University of Western Ontario and the University of Notre Dame. He is a member of the American Economic Association, Academy of Business Administration, International Trade and Finance Association, American Statistical Association, the Business Association of Latin American Studies, Western Economic Association (International), Academy of International Business, the Indiana Academy of Social Sciences, charter member of Midwest Business Administration Association, Midwest Economic Association, and the National Association of Business Economists. His research interests include international finance, financial markets and institutions, general economic theory and monetary theory and policy. He has conducted research on international trade and development, monetary policy in developing economies, financial intermediation and information symmetry, financial deregulation, bank patronage decisions, and portfolios of thrift institutions.
